Every couple experiences ups and downs in their journey. In order to have more ups than downs, you have to put some elbow grease into your relationship.
In the end, it depends on YOU to make your relationship special and amazing. No one else can do it for you.
Thankfully, there are many ways to improve your relationship.
Here are five simple things you can start doing right now to improve your relationship:
1 Put Aside Smartphones
These days it seems people are becoming more and more distracted and having a harder time focusing on their priorities. One major cause of this phenomenon is our constant access to smartphones. Social networking sites and other online apps and games are fun, but used too much, serve as distractions from what is most important.
It is important for a couple to put aside their smartphones in order to spend quality time together. The more you pay attention to spending quality time with your spouse, the more intimate your relationship can become.
2 Self Care
If you fill yourself up, you are better able to love those around you. If you are running on empty and never make time to fill yourself, you are not going to be able to offer much to your partner.
So whether it is exercising, a hot bath, a good book, spending time outside or skin and body care (I recommend this), take some time for you!
3 Plan a Date
If you feel that you and your partner need to spend some quality time then its time to plan a date! A good date night can be a powerful thing in a relationship. Often issues creep up and if we don’t spend time together they get worse and worse. Regularly spending quality time together can help nip these problems in the bud.
4 Spend Time Doing What You Love Together
Two of my favorite things to do are going on long walks and going on long drives. When I share these experiences with my partner, I feel more connected and intimate with him.
Maybe for your partner its going to a concert or exploring a new place, but figure out what you love and what your partner loves and spend some time doing those things together. You’ll both appreciate it!
5 Workout Together
Studies have shown that couples who work out together stay together for a longer period of time.
Maybe its the endorphins you gain together, maybe its doing something healthy and good for your body together or maybe its just the quality time spent together- whatever the reason, exercising together can bring some awesome benefits to any relationship. Try it out!
Relationships can certainly be hard, but with a little work, they can also be the most beautiful things in our lives. Try out a few of these tips and let us know how it goes!
