Note Four of our 14 day series of love notes is to describe a favorite vacation you’ve taken together.
Hello and welcome to our fourth prompt of our 14 Days of Romantic Love Notes series! I’ll be following the 14 love letter prompts (listed in their entirety at the bottom of this post) one prompt per day. Be sure to snag the free printable at the end of the post if you want to follow along!
Note 4: Describe a favorite vacation you’ve taken together.
Ah! This one is SO hard!
So many amazing vacations together the past 10 years.
I think I’m going to have to go with our longest/most epic vacation, which is when we went to Brazil together in 2013.
Rich and I both served LDS missions – him in Brazil and me in Slovenia and when we got married we made a plan to visit one on our 5th anniversary and one on our 10th anniversary.
I have no idea what gave us the impression that we would have money to go on these trips at those times, but we set the goal nonetheless.
As luck would have it, Rich ended up working for a professor in his PhD program that had a few collaborative labs in Brazil (he studied the tropical disease leishmaniasis). When she found out he spoke fluent Portuguese, it was a done deal and he spent at least a month researching in Brazil for three consecutive years (more that toll on our relationship here 😉 ).
One of those years happened to fall on our 5th anniversary, so I piggy-backed on the end of his trip and we spent 8 fun-filled days touring around Brazil.
We started in Salvador where he was researching.
Then went to Belo Horizonte, where he lived as a missionary for two years.
Then ended up in Rio, which was maybe my favorite. SUCH an incredible city!

Vacationing with Rich is one of my very favorite things in the whole wide world, so this was fun to reminisce on. Can’t wait for our Slovenia trip! (happening sometime in the future . . . .)
So there you go.
Ok your turn! What is a favorite vacation you’ve been on together?
Remember, even thinking it in your mind can help fill your love tank. So even if you don’t write it out- think about it!
